Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), visited the Gujranwala and Sialkot garrisons on Friday to assess operational preparedness and review initiatives aimed at strengthening combat readiness.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief was briefed on the formations’ state of readiness and ongoing efforts to improve training standards and combat effectiveness.

During the visit, he also observed a field training exercise and inspected a modern simulator-based training facility.

Field Marshal Munir praised the formations for maintaining high professional standards and remaining fully prepared for operational challenges.

Stressing the importance of keeping pace with evolving warfare, he said modern conflicts demand agility, precision, strong situational awareness, and swift decision-making.

While interacting with officers and soldiers, he lauded their high morale and dedication to national defence.

He underlined the need for rigorous, mission-focused training and reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to addressing both internal and external security challenges.

The army chief also reiterated the force’s resolve to counter hostile hybrid threats, extremist narratives, and divisive elements that seek to destabilize the country.
