Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held a meeting with the Chairman Export-Import Bank of China, Hu Xiaolian, during his five-day visit to the brotherly country.
In the meeting, the top banker praised the premier's development work, terming him "Pakistan Speed".
The chairman noted that PM Shehbaz's speed of work in Punjab has now become synonymous with "Pakistan Speed".
The Chairman China International Development Cooperation Agency, Luo Zhaohui, also met with PM Shehbaz and expressed interest in investing in the ML One Upgradation Project.
Pakistan's chief executive extended an invitation to the agency to invest in the project.
PM Shehbaz is on a five-day visit to China, from June 4 to 8, at the special invitation of his counterpart, Li Qiang.
The visit is aimed at strengthening the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and federal ministers Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Musadik Malik are accompanying the Prime Minister on this crucial trip.
A day earlier, PM Shehbaz addressed the 4th Pakistan-China Friendship and Business Reception in Beijing.
“If we follow the Chinese model, I have no doubt, Pakistan will regain its position in the comity of nations and will be respected like our Chinese brothers are done by friends and foes […] We will follow your model, work hard untiringly, put in our sweat and blood, and make Pakistan a great country,” he said during his speech.
The visit is seen as a significant step towards bolstering economic ties between China and Pakistan.
The meetings are expected to pave the way for increased investment and cooperation between the two nations.
