A Safe City spokesperson has announced that official e-challan SMS notifications will now be sent exclusively from the number 9915.
The spokesperson said that earlier messages were issued from the government short code 8070, adding that the Safe City Authority does not send e-challan notifications from any number other than 9915.
Citizens have been advised to remain cautious and avoid making payments through suspicious SMS messages or unofficial websites.
The spokesperson further clarified that the Safe City Authority never asks for payments, bank details, or account information through SMS.
Members of the public were warned against clicking on links received in fraudulent e-challan messages, as such links may be used for scams.
