Sindh Police have announced plans to implement a faceless e-challan system in Karachi in an effort to modernize traffic management and improve road safety.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon at the Central Police Office on Monday. The meeting focused on reforms in the provincial traffic police units, including strategies to reduce traffic accidents.
A key feature of the initiative is the introduction of an electronic ticketing system that will enable traffic fines to be issued digitally and delivered to violators’ residences, thereby eliminating the need for face-to-face interactions with traffic officers.
IGP Memon said the move aims to ensure transparency in the enforcement of traffic laws and improve public convenience. He added that new equipment, such as speedometers and speed guns, will also be procured to monitor vehicle speeds more effectively.
