The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has exceeded its target of 150,000 Hajj applications within just eight days through its online Hajj portal.
The ministry called it a major success in digital service delivery and e-governance. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, the government is moving quickly to fully digitalise Hajj arrangements under its reform plan.
Through the online Hajj portal and the Pak Hajj mobile app, intending pilgrims can now complete registration from home in a simple and transparent way.
The ministry said the new system has received positive feedback from the public, with many calling it an important step towards improving transparency and convenience in government services.
Officials said the next phase would focus on making Hajj fee payments fully digital as well.
Under the plan, pilgrims will be able to pay their Hajj dues online from home through the portal or the mobile app.
The ministry said a new payment system is being introduced with 1LINK, which will allow applicants to complete the entire process, from registration to payment, without visiting banks or offices.
