Three men, including Chanesar Town chairman Farhan Ghani, brother of provincial minister Saeed Ghani, were released after a government employee withdrew an assault and threats case filed against them.
The case was being heard in the Anti-Terrorism Administrative Court. During proceedings, the accused’s lawyer, Waqar Alam Abbasi, informed the court that the complainant, Hafiz Sohail Jadoon, had retracted his allegations and submitted a written application to the investigating officer.
Following this, the three accused, including Farhan Ghani, Qamar Ahmed and Shakeel Chandio were released from custody.
The defence argued that, in light of the withdrawal, there was no longer any need to present the accused before the court, and the investigating officer would now submit a report on their release.
Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court had remanded the accused in custody until August 30 in connection with the case registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Firozabad Police Station.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), on August 22, the plaintiff was overseeing the installation of fiber optic cables on Shahrah-e-Faisal Service Road.
At that time, 20 to 25 individuals arrived in three vehicles, including Farhan Ghani, Qamar Ahmed, and Shakeel.
The accused questioned the plaintiff about who gave him permission. When the plaintiff explained it was government work with proper permits (NOCs), the group allegedly tortured him.
The plaintiff also claims they brandished a weapon with the intent to kill him.
The FIR further stated that the group dragged the plaintiff into a room at a nearby petrol pump, where they continued to torture him. Subsequently, a police mobile came and rescued me from the individuals.
