Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led federal government is mulling lodging a sedition against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan for sharing the "Hamood ur Rahman Commission Report" on his microblogging site X, sources said on Monday.
The post was shared by the official handle of the veteran politician on May 26.

"Every Pakistani should study the Hamood ur Rahman Commission Report and get to know who was the true traitor, General Yahya Khan or Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," the caption of the post read.
Later, the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) decided to probe the former prime minister over controversial post.
Reacting to the letter, the 72-year-old politician said that he would only become a part of the inquiry in the presence of his lawyers.
"And the above allegation is Absolute Nonsense," he added in his response.
PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan distanced Imran Khan from the fall of Dhaka post, saying that the post was not aimed towards the military and should be seen in a “political context”.
However, the investigation body also issued a notice to Gohar, Omar Ayub, and Raoof Hasan to join the probe and give an explanation for the ‘misuse’ of Mr Khan’s X account.
In a statement issued after its core committee meeting on Friday, PTI claimed that the FIA was hell-bent on making another case against Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
On the other hand, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said the government will decide to take legal action against PTI after FIA completes its inquiry.
According to sources, the federal cabinet is "seriously considering" filing a sedition case against the 72-year-old politician for inciting mutiny within the Pakistan Army through his post.
