The Government of Pakistan has introduced a major relief initiative by waiving CNIC fees for all citizens who have turned 18 or are applying for their National Identity Card for the first time.

Individuals without a CNIC can now visit Nadra offices to complete the application process and receive their identity card within 15 days.

According to Pakistani law, every citizen is entitled to a National Identity Card. Nadra (National Database and Registration Authority) stated that those who have recently reached the age of 18, or have not yet obtained their CNIC, can apply free of charge and obtain it within the designated 15-day period.

The initiative has been widely appreciated, as it removes financial and bureaucratic barriers, making the process more accessible, particularly for citizens in remote and underprivileged areas.
