Karachiites can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that the scorching heat spell will subside from tonight.
According to the Met Office, the low-pressure system that has been causing the hot and humid weather in the port city has moved away from Karachi.
"The persisting very hot and humid weather conditions likely to ease from today evening as the low-pressure area has moved away from Karachi," the weather department said in a statement.
There is also a possibility of drizzle and light rain in different parts of the city, further providing respite from the heat.
However, the overall weather conditions are likely to remain hot and humid during the next two days.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius in the metropolis during the last 24 hours with a humidity ratio of 49 percent.
The Sindh Health Department reported 9 more deaths due to heat stroke in Karachi in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 26.
