As temperatures soar across Pakistan, fashion experts and health professionals are advising residents to adopt strategic clothing choices to stay safe and comfortable during the ongoing heatwave.

Lightweight, breathable fabrics and loose-fitting garments are being recommended as essential components of summer wardrobes for all age groups.

Experts emphasise the use of cotton and linen over synthetic fabrics like polyester, which tend to trap heat.

For men, pale-colored cotton shirts and polo tops paired with linen trousers or lightweight chinos are advised to enhance comfort while reflecting sunlight. Heavy materials like denim are discouraged during daytime hours.

Women are encouraged to wear traditional lawn outfits, including loose dresses and flowing palazzo pants made of cotton or linen.

Accessories like light scarves or chiffon dupattas offer additional sun protection without overheating the body.
