Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan on Thursday nominated PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan as his party's candidate for the prime minister slot.
The former prime minister conveyed his message to PTI leader Asad Qaiser during their meeting at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala jail, Asad said that Imran Khan will announce the date for nationwide protests against alleged rigging in elections later.
The former National Assembly Speaker said that Imran Khan has given him the task to approach all political parties protesting against the Feb 8 poll results.
"We will talk to every party including JUI-F, ANP, QWP," he added.
"[...] This was the worst and most rigged election in our history," Qaiser included.
Talking to the media along with Qaiser, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif announced Imran Khan's nominated Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
"Asad Qaiser’s brother Hakimullah has been nominated by Imran Khan sahib for Speaker KP assembly," he said.
“He [Imran Khan] also gave a special message about America […] the US had not played their role against the reports of rigging in Pakistan […] If they are champions of democracy, then they should voice it if they think the elections in Pakistan were not fair,” he said.
Earlier, PTI had nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as his party's candidate for chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
PTI clinched a landslide victory in KP as the independent candidates have taken the majority in the province.
PTI-backed independent candidates have secured victory on 91 seats, becoming a major political party to form a government.
