Interior Ministry rejects claims of targeted deportations of Pakistanis from UAE

Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has dismissed reports circulating on sections of traditional and social media regarding the alleged targeted deportation of Pakistani nationals from the United Arab Emirates, describing the claims as “malicious propaganda” aimed at spreading misinformation.

In an official statement, the ministry said it had reviewed available details and data before concluding that there was no evidence of country-specific or sect-based deportations being carried out by the UAE authorities.

The ministry clarified that deportations, where they occur, are part of routine legal and administrative procedures implemented in accordance with the host country’s immigration laws and regulations.

These cases may involve visa violations, overstaying, incomplete documentation or breaches of local laws.

Officials stressed that Pakistani nationals who meet visa, residency and employment requirements continue to travel to and secure work opportunities in the UAE and other friendly countries without discrimination.

The statement further accused certain individuals and social media accounts of spreading “fabricated and misleading” content for ulterior motives, warning against the circulation of unverified information that could damage bilateral relations.

The ministry also reiterated that any concerns involving Pakistani citizens abroad are addressed through established diplomatic and consular channels on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the relevant foreign authorities.

Pakistan and the UAE share longstanding diplomatic, economic and labour ties, with hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis living and working across the Gulf state in various sectors of the economy.
