Karachi expects respite from heatwave with light rain today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a slight reprieve from the intense heat in Karachi today, with light rain expected in coastal areas of the port city.
According to the Met office, the city's temperature is expected to range from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius in the metropolis during the last 24 hours with a humidity ratio of 49 percent.
The Sindh Health Department reported 9 more deaths due to heat stroke in Karachi in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 26.
Despite the predicted slight relief in weather conditions, residents in Karachi are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe in the sweltering heat.
However, the rest of the country will continue to experience hot and humid weather.
Wind and thundershowers are expected in some regions, including Kashmir, Northeast Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Southeast Sindh, and Northeast and South Balochistan.
