The port city is expected to experience hot and humid weather for next four days, according to the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD).
Chief metrologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, said the mercury is expected to go up by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in the next four days in Karachi.
He refuted the chances of rain in June and said the monsoon is anticipated to begin in July, however, the weatherman did not disclose the expected date of monsoon season.
Sarfaraz added that the weather will remain hot and humid in the metropolis, with temperatures possibly touching 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the coastal areas are likely to witness a high feel-like temperature due to a 73 percent humidity level in the air.
Earlier, the PMD had predicted ‘above than normal’ rain in the upcoming monsoon season, likely to begin from the first week of July.
The weather expert had said that the port city is likely to receive downpours under the influence of a medium-level pressure that is expected to be created over the Arabian Sea on June 30.
The monsoon season is set to start on June 27 and will remain in action till July 4 across Pakistan.
However, weather experts said "more than usual rains” will lash southern areas of Sindh, including Karachi this year.
