Karachi to experience 49°C feels-like temperature today

The ongoing scorching heat to lash Karachiites more as the mercury is expected to go above 40 degrees Celsius today (Monday), according to the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD).
The PMD predicted that the temperature is expected to touch 41-42 degrees Celsius in the metropolis at day times, while the feels-like temperature is likely to hit 44-49 degrees Celsius in the city.
However, winds were blowing from the west direction at a speed of 20 kilometres per hour in the megapolis, the Met office added.
It further said that the weather would remain hot and humid in Karachi with a 54 percent humidity level.
"The ongoing harsh weather condition is expected to continue for two days."
Forecasting the weather in Sindh, the Met Office said that Umar Kot, Sanghar, Mirpur, Sajawal, and Hyderabad are anticipated to receive rain and thunderstorms at night.
Other districts of Sindh are expected to witness mercury ranging between 42-46 degrees Celsius, while a few areas, including Jacobabad and Sukkar, are likely to hit 47 degrees Celsius.
The Met Department said Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Quetta would experience 45, 42, 40, and 38 degrees Celsius, respectively, in the daytime.
On the other hand, the PMD also predicted rain and thunderstorms in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan at night hours.
