An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has granted police an eight-day physical remand of Shahrez Khan, the son of Aleema Khan. Shahrez was presented in court on Friday following his arrest during a police raid on his residence.

The nephew of former prime minister Imran Khan was seen in a video from the court wearing handcuffs as police officers stood around him.

According to DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, Shahrez had been wanted in connection with the May 9 cases.

Earlier, Aleema Khan alleged that four masked men carrying weapons stormed her house and took away her son.

She claimed the men, dressed in plain clothes, entered through the kitchen while Shahrez was upstairs with his wife and father. According to her, the intruders also harassed the domestic staff.

Aleema Khan took to X to speak out about her son's arrest by Lahore police, alleging that officers behaved violently during an unannounced raid on their home.

According to her statement, her son Shahrez Khan's wife and children endured a harrowing ordeal during the incident.

"For over three years, this fascist regime in Pakistan has unleashed a reign of terror,"  she said.

Aleema Khan vowed that despite the arrests and intimidation, her family will not back down from supporting the PTI founder.

PTI’s spokesperson issued a similar statement, alleging that the men broke down the bedroom door in front of Shahrez’s two children, tortured him, and dragged him away.
