The LHC dismissed a petition filed by Mubashira Maneka, daughter of Bushra Imran, seeking permission to meet her mother at Adiala Jail.

The petition was heard by Justice Farooq Haider as an objection case, who upheld the registrar’s office objection and ordered that the request could not be entertained.

The court said that the case should have been filed at the Rawalpindi court, as Adiala Jail falls within its territorial jurisdiction.

During the hearing, Mubashira Maneka’s lawyer argued that the request was maintainable before any bench of the LHC. He emphasized that all benches had equal authority to hear such matters.

Furthermore, he requested the court to set aside the registrar’s objection and fix the petition for regular hearing. However, the court dismissed the case purely on jurisdictional grounds.
