Man arrested for harassing woman after CCTV footage surfaces

Lahore Police have arrested a man after a video surfaced showing him engaging in inappropriate behavior towards a woman.

The CCTV footage, which clearly depicts Rakha making inappropriate gestures towards the victim before fleeing the scene, was crucial in identifying and apprehending the suspect.

The incident occurred two days ago on Ghalib Road, where the suspect harassed a woman as she was returning home from work during the night.

Authorities, acting on the footage, tracked Rakha to Liberty Market, where he was arrested late at night by Gulberg Police.

Lahore Police confirmed that a case was registered under the orders of SP Model Town, Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar, who emphasised that swift action had been taken to apprehend the accused.

He also referenced the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Never Again” policy, which aims to ensure stringent action against those exploiting women.

SP Tarar stressed that there would be no leniency for individuals involved in such offenses, sending a strong message about the authorities’ commitment to safeguarding women in the city.
