Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has said that "surgery is necessary for the Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi" following consecutive defeats of the Green Shirts in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan criticised Mohsin Naqvi for his ineffective role as the cricket body chief and accused him of failing to hold transparent elections during his time as caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab.

The former Prime Minister stated that Mohsin Naqvi “lacks any credibility” and called him a “notorious favour-seeker.”

He asserted that while soldiers are sacrificing their lives for the country, the law and order situation in Islamabad is deteriorating under the leadership of Naqvi, who also  holds a portfolio of Interior Minister.

“Everyone is trying to silence me to cover up the rigging, the Chief Election Commissioner was involved in rigging and then we are being asked to go to him,” the cricketer-turned-politician said.

He alleged that IG Prisons and Jail Superintendent are working on the agenda of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Imran Khan has been in jail since August 2023. He was first sentenced in the Toshakhana case, and then faced imprisonment in several other cases.
