Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will spend the last ten days of Ramadan in the holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia, family sources said on Tuesday.

Following his journey in the sacred city, the three-time premier will travel to London for his routine checkup, sources added.

According to the reports, the former prime minister will undergo several medical checkups at Harley Street Clinic in London.

However, Nawaz will return to Pakistan in a week or two to help his younger brother Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and his daughter Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz in running federal and provincial matters.

Notably, Nawaz was living in London since November 2019 for medical treatment after the Lahore High Court (LHC) allowed him a four-week reprieve.

He was serving seven-year imprisonment in the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore in the Al-Azizia corruption case before his departure to London on medical grounds.

On Oct 21 last year, the seasoned politician returned to his homeland after ending four years of self-imposed exile in the UK. He was welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters at Minar-e-Pakistan.
