The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide advisory warning of a potential heatwave across Pakistan from April 22 to 27, with dry and unusually hot conditions expected in most regions.

According to the NDMA, elevated temperatures are anticipated particularly in Sindh and Balochistan, where the mercury is expected to remain significantly above normal levels.

Similar weather conditions are also forecast for much of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite the overall dry forecast, light rain and partly cloudy weather are expected in specific districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Abbottabad, Bannu, Charsadda, Chitral, Kohat, Mansehra, Peshawar, Swat, and others.

Gilgit-Baltistan and some areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir may also receive intermittent rainfall during the same period.

The NDMA has called on provincial and local authorities to remain alert and prepare for emergency responses in high-risk areas.

The public has been advised to stay hydrated, limit sun exposure during peak heat hours, and take special care of vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with existing health conditions.
