The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday ruled out the possibility of rain in Karachi due to prevailing dry winds.

Earlier forecasts had indicated a likelihood of strong winds and thunderstorm-related rainfall, potentially offering relief from the city’s hot and humid conditions.

According to PMD officials, the weather system responsible for the expected rainfall has now shifted away from Karachi. However, the department noted there is still a chance of rain in some parts of the city on Tuesday.

Last week, the Met Office had warned that temperatures in Karachi and other parts of Sindh would remain unusually high. Since then, the city has experienced intense heat, particularly between 11am and 4pm.

Authorities have advised residents to limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours to avoid heat-related health issues.

The latest forecast comes as Pakistan recorded its second hottest and seventh driest April in 65 years.
