Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) stated that the public has defied Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s call for protest as “not a single person” could reach Islamabad.
“It’s past 5 PM, and not a single person has reached Islamabad for Khan’s ‘final call.’ It’s a clear, loud verdict from the public, they have chosen progress over unrest,” the post read on X.
Rallies and caravans are heading to Islamabad to hold a sit-in for the release of former prime minister Imran Khan who is currently incarcerated in Adiala jail.
Addressing a press conference in the federal capital, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a stern warning, stating that the government is unafraid of any threats and will arrest anyone attempting to head to Islamabad for the protest.
PTI decided to proceed with its call for a "do-or-die" march towards Islamabad on November 24, following the failure of negotiations and the government's refusal to release Imran Khan on Friday.
Imran Khan has outlined three primary demands, including the rollback of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the restoration of the Constitution to its original form, and the return of the party's “stolen mandate.”
He also demanded the release of all political prisoners held without trial.
