One killed, several injured in Swabi police station blast

At least one cop was killed and 18 others sustained injuries in a blast inside a police station in Khyber Pakhtukhwa's Swabi police station, the deputy commissioner confirmed Thursday.

The blast, initially reported as caused by a short circuit on the first floor, sparked a fire that was promptly extinguished by firefighting teams.

Rescue teams swiftly responded, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals, including Bacha Khan Medical Complex, where emergency services were activated.

According to varying reports, between 15 to 33 people were hospitalized, with some in critical condition.

KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has demanded a detailed report from the police and has instructed the authorities  to provide timely medical aid to the injured.
