The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released the latest figures on the widespread devastation caused by rains and flash floods across the province over the past 48 hours.

According to PDMA data, 307 people have lost their lives in rain and flood-related incidents so far, including 279 men, 15 women, and 13 children. Another 23 individuals were injured, among them 17 men, four women, and two children.

The authority reported that 74 houses were damaged in the calamity, 63 partially and 11 completely destroyed. The affected districts include Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, and Battagram.

To support relief efforts, the provincial government has allocated Rs 500 million for the hardest-hit areas, Rs 150 million for Buner, Rs 100 million each for Bajaur, Battagram, and Mansehra, and Rs 50 million for Swat.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif confirmed that 11 districts were struck by cloudbursts and flash floods, impacting at least 3,817 people. He added that 32 people remain missing, with rescue operations underway involving 545 personnel and 90 vehicles and boats.

Buner district has recorded the highest death toll, with 159 fatalities. However, rescue teams managed to save around 100 people. In Bajaur, 20 people were confirmed dead and one remains missing. In Battagram, 11 bodies have been recovered, while 10 individuals are still unaccounted for.
