Pakistan ranked 101 out of 119 best countries for travel and tourism

Pakistan was ranked 101 out of 119 countries on the Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024 released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Friday.
According to the report, the TTDI is a part of the WEF’s broader work with the industry and government stakeholders to build a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future for economies and local communities.
Pakistan was ranked slightly above Nepal (105) and Bangladesh Bangladesh (109) in South-East Asia.
However, India and Sri Lanka surpassed Pakistan in the list with 39 and 76 rankings, respectively.
The United States (US) topped the list as the best country for travel and tourism.
Spain came in second position followed by Japan, France, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, Italy, and Switzerland.
The report was created by the University of Surrey with input from leading travel and tourism stakeholder organisations, thought leaders and data partners.
The TTDI measures the set of factors and policies that enable the sustainable and resilient development of travel and tourism across the world.
