Upon arrival, the pilgrim was examined by a special cardiac team, and then he underwent angioplasty to reopen blocked arteries.
The medical staff said to support his heart’s function and reduce stress on the organ, an “Impella” device, a mechanical pump that helps circulate blood in cases of severe cardiac failure, was also implanted in his body.
The comprehensive treatment plan also tackled complications like heart failure and pneumonia. Gradually, the pilgrim’s condition improved, allowing doctors to wean him off both the ECMO machine and the ventilator.
He regained full consciousness and was able to breathe independently.
