PM Sharif assures full support to Chinese companies for investing in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured his full support to the foreign investors to invest in Pakistan. 

Speaking to the gathering, he announced the establishment of a business council to facilitate investment in Pakistan, reiterating his government’s commitments to provide essential facilities to foreign investors and businessmen.

Attending the Pakistan China Business Forum ceremony in Shenzhen, Premier Shehbaz applauded China’s development achievements and emphasised business-to-business cooperation between brotherly countries. 

Shehbaz highlighted bilateral trade and investment, especially in the key sectors, including technology, industry, agriculture, mining, steel and renewable energy. 

The PM vowed to replicate China’s efforts in its transformation and said: “I will go back to Pakistan with this resolve, and we follow this model of great economic transformation in Pakistan.”

Moreover, PM Sharif did not forget the Besham terrorist attack and expressed condolence over the incident where five Chinese nationals had lost their lives.

Premier also pledged to the Chinese government to provide foolproof security to Chinese nationals and claimed that would never happen again.

Soon after the ceremony of the business forum, the Premier welcomed businessman Zhu Zhoajiang, who showed interest in expanding investments in Pakistan’s mobile manufacturing sector and exploring opportunities in electric bikes and modern agriculture areas. 

On the occasion, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s investment potential, particularly in the IT sector, mineral resources and textiles. 

However, Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi said the business forum would pave the new pathways to economic growth and trade cooperation.
