Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has indicated his willingness to reinitiate discussions with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and has suggested the establishment of a parliamentary committee to tackle the prevailing issues.
During a federal cabinet meeting, PM Sharif reflected on the previous discussions with PTI, which commenced with the creation of a committee following PTI's proposal.
He noted that PTI had presented written requests through the Speaker, to which the government committee was anticipated to provide a written response.
However, the meeting that was scheduled for January 28 was called off by PTI.

PM Sharif underscored the importance of responding in writing to formal requests. He recalled that after the 2018 elections, when the opposition entered Parliament wearing black armbands, then-Prime Minister Imran Khan had initiated the formation of a parliamentary committee to address election-related issues.
PM Sharif pointed out that PTI did not establish a judicial commission but opted for a committee instead.
He further encouraged PTI to reengage in dialogue and collaborate on the creation of a new committee to investigate both the 2018 and 2024 elections, aiming to uncover the facts.
PTI has recently quit talks with the government after three rounds citing no progress on their demands including judicial commissions to probe May 9 and November 26 events.
