Heavy rain lashed several parts of Karachi for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.
However, the port city remains in the grip of humid weather despite the downpours.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Federal B Area, Moosamiyat, Gulshan-e-Jamal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road, I.I Chundrigarh Road, Kemari, Sultanabad and Gurumandir were among the localities where moderate to heavy rainfall was reported.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz predicted that more rain will hit the metropolis today and tomorrow.
“Strong Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating Sindh. Under the influence of the system, moderate to heavy rain is expected in different parts of the province, including Karachi,” he said in his weather advisory.
“The largest part of the city is expected to receive light and moderate rain, and some places are likely to experience heavy rain for a short duration,” the weatherman added.
Weather analyst Jawad Memon also forecasted more showers and thunderstorms in the city until July 31.
Moreover, another monsoon spell is likely to enter the port city in the first week of August.
“The upcoming system is expected to appear stronger than the current,” said Sarfaraz.
