ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed optimism that former Prime Minister Imran Khan may be released from prison before Eidul Adha, stating that party workers are growing weary of the prolonged legal battle.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Barrister Gohar said, “I hope that Imran Khan will be released before Eid. There is a strong possibility that the hearing of his case will be fixed soon. No one can even imagine why he had to spend two years behind bars.”

He acknowledged the frustration of PTI supporters, saying, “The concerns of our workers are valid, and we value their emotions. However, I urge them to remain calm. We are doing everything we can for the release of our party founder.”

The PTI chief further stated that the party had used every possible forum — including protests, sit-ins, and parliamentary debates — to raise the issue of Khan’s incarceration.

“Imran Khan believes in seeking divine help and trusts that Allah will pave the way for justice,” he added.

He reiterated that the legal team is pushing for fair hearings on merit, and claimed that “judges themselves are exhausted from writing repeated decisions,” reflecting the long-drawn nature of the cases.

“Our people are tired of waiting. We are hopeful that the judiciary will now proceed swiftly and impartially,” Barrister Gohar concluded.
