Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Chaudhry Ijaz and Haji Imtiaz’s family revealed shocking details of an alleged raid on their home by armed men on October 12, reportedly aimed at pressuring the lawmakers to break from the party’s stance and support the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

The family claimed that both brothers were threatened to switch their political loyalties and are now facing persecution due to their strong allegiance to PTI chief Imran Khan.

On Tuesday, MNA Chaudhry Ijaz’s wife, also the sister-in-law of Haji Imtiaz held a press conference alongside PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Omar Ayub, where she recounted the family’s ordeal following the vandalism of their home by unknown men.

She alleged that around 25 to 30 men arrived in multiple vehicles at 9pm on October 1, forcibly entered their home, damaged property, and assaulted household staff while demanding information on the whereabouts of the Chaudhry brothers.

The household staff informed the intruders that Chaudhry Ijaz was not home, and that Haji Imtiaz had not visited in recent days.

She further described being forcibly taken to her husband’s office by the masked men, who also harassed the children and dragged them.

“I was subjected to harasssment and death threats. We were told that if we spoke up, they would return the next day,” she said. “I told my husband about the incident, and he advised me to report it to the police. When I called the police emergency number, I received no response.”

Chaudhry Ijaz’s wife added that the intruders had taken the CCTV footage with them, and stated that the family has faced continuous harassment since October 12.

Prior to the passage of the 26th Amendment on October 25, PTI and several opposition parties expressed concerns that lawmakers were being bribed and facing coercion tactics to support the constitutional changes.

PTI workers condemned the government for intimidating the families of their workers and leaders, while praising MNA Imtiaz Chaudhry and his brother Chaudhry Ijaz for their unwavering political integrity.
