Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has rejected the allegations made against the party a day earlier, calling them “baseless and unfounded.”
In a statement, Salman Akram Raja said that PTI has always advocated for a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism, ensuring that innocent lives are not lost during operations.
“We want to eliminate terrorism from our soil,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in Peshawar, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar said the mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa belongs to PTI, but the federal government and certain institutions are attempting to create hurdles in the election of the Chief Minister.
He expressed full support for Sohail Afridi, calling him an educated and honest individual, and confirmed that 92 PTI MPAs would vote for him.
“We are also in contact with leaders from other parties, and their response has been positive,” he added.
Junaid Akbar thanked Ali Amin Gandapur for resigning immediately on the directions of the founder of PTI, appreciating his discipline and loyalty.
He further stated that PTI has consistently called for dialogue with the Taliban, emphasizing that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa trust PTI’s policies.
“The public wants peace through dialogue. We must sit together and find a solution through negotiation,” he concluded.
