Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Zain Qureshi and Aamir Dogar have been arrested by Punjab Police from Multan while leading a rally towards Islamabad.
Following party founder Imran Khan’s ‘final call’ for a nationwide protest on November 24 against what they described as the stolen mandate, party workers arrests, 26th constitutional amendment, and elongated imprisonment of Imran Khan.
For this purpose, party workers and leaders across the country had been directed to march to Islamabad and demonstrate at D-Chowk in the federal capital.
However, the sources revealed that Zain Qureshi and Amir Dogar were arrested before getting to their destination, at Qadirpura Toll Plaza.
Moreover, Islamabad police claimed that over 300 PTI workers were also arrested before getting to the protest place. Similarly, Rawalpindi police have also taken several into custody.
According to the sources, raids have been conducted to arrest PTI’s MPA workers in Punjab.
To stop the PTI protest, the Punjab government had imposed Section 144 across the province for 15 days.
