Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi said that his party would hold talks with chief of army staff (COAS) General Asim Munir and Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Nadeem Anjum "very soon".

“We will talk with the army chief, the DG ISI very soon because it is a need of the hour to prioritise the country’s security,” Afridi said while talking to a private news channel.

However, the former federal minister refused to sit at the table of negotiation with opponent political parties, PML-N, PPP, MQM-P and others.

“They have come to the parliament via form 47, who are controlled through remote, how we would talk with them, they were rejected by the public,” Imran Khan's loyal said.

“All allies of the ruling coalition confessed that the [Feb 8] elections were rigged and they were facilitated by the establishment," Afridi added.

When he was asked if Imran Khan was willing to talk with the establishment, he replied, “My leader was willing to talk with them, but they had not responded to us".

However, no timeline for the talks with top army brass was shared by the PTI leader during the interview.
