Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has urged its workers not to gather outside the hospital during the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan.
In a statement, the party said that a peaceful environment should be maintained outside the hospital in the interest of Imran Khan’s health and treatment. It also urged supporters to cooperate in ensuring the full implementation of the court’s orders.
The statement noted that millions of Pakistanis had been expressing concern over the PTI founder’s health for several weeks.
The statement said the Supreme Court’s order had strengthened the demand for the provision of the best possible medical facilities.
The party expressed hope that the relevant authorities would implement the court’s orders in letter and spirit. It said that the involvement of Imran Khan’s personal physician and family members would make an impartial assessment of his medical history possible. PTI called for the court’s order to be implemented immediately and without delay.
According to PTI, in light of the Supreme Court’s order, a meeting between Imran Khan and his family members should be ensured. The party also called for full respect for legal and human rights during this difficult time.
PTI welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision and appreciated the protection of Imran Khan’s fundamental right to healthcare and human dignity.
The statement further said that the Supreme Court had ordered Imran Khan’s immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital.
The court had also directed that a medical board comprising specialist doctors be constituted. The board will include specialists in ophthalmology, cardiology, and other relevant medical fields to conduct a comprehensive medical examination of the PTI founder. PTI also called for the inclusion of Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Uzma Khan in the medical board.
