The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Saturday issued a warning that rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected to batter parts of Sindh, including Karachi, over the next 72 hours.

The NDMA predicted the rain system to remain in Sindh until August 12, affecting areas including Badin, Chhor, Dadu, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Khairpur, Larkana, Mithi, Mitayari, Mirpur Khas, Naushero Feroze, Padidan, Sajawal, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tharparkar, Thatta, and Umarkot.

Citizens should check weather conditions before heading out and take necessary precautions. The Pak NDMA Disaster Alert application can help receive rain forecasts, warnings, and guidelines about meteorological conditions.

The NDMA also issued a warning to relevant departments to stay alert for potential emergencies or extreme weather conditions. 

Due to ongoing weather conditions, glacial outbursts, flash floods, and landslides are predicted in Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Monsoon rains have caused flooding in northern parts of the country and Balochistan. More than 23 people have been killed during the rain in KP.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday said that various parts of the country, including Karachi, will experience more monsoon rains.

The weather department predicted sporadic showers in Karachi.

Pakistan was gripped by sweltering temperatures this year, with multiple heatwave-related deaths reported in Karachi, where feels like temperatures exceeded 50°C.

After experiencing a series of heatwaves, Karachi has finally found relief with the arrival of monsoon rains and cooling sea breeze.
