Restaurants razed opposite Karachi’s Millennium Mall during anti-encroachment drive

Several restaurants located opposite Millennium Mall on Karachi’s Dalmia Road were demolished by the Cantonment Board Faisal as part of a large-scale anti-encroachment operation underway in the port city.
The operation iss being conducted across all cantonment board jurisdictions to clear illegal structures.
A video circulating on social media showed the demolished outdoor restaurants in front of Square One Mall, on the road leading to the National Stadium.

Anti-encroachment efforts have also been launched in other areas, including Korangi Cantonment Board's demolition of illegal structures in Bhittai Colony.
Similar actions are planned in other cantonment areas, including Clifton, Defence, Darakhshan, and Gizri, to remove encroachments on pathways.
Malir Cantonment and Safoora Chowrangi are also expected to be cleared of illegal businesses and structures.
Previously, authorities demolished 200 illegally constructed homes on parkland in the FB Area. Residents attempted to resist the operation, during which an SHO sustained injuries.
