In an effort to foster working relationships with Islamabad, Saudi Arabia has announced to build a ‘state-of-the-art skill university’ in Pakistan to train the workforce for its upcoming project in the Kingdom.

Ministry of the Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development also planned to propose the dedication of a special quota for Pakistani workers for NEOM and upcoming projects.

NEOM is a new urban area being built by the Saudi government in Tabuk.

“A meeting of officials attended by an office bearer of KSA Embassy in Islamabad, Consulate General Karachi, and Pakistani authority, discussed that the university will train Pakistani workers as per the requirement of the Saudi labour market to enhance their skills and capabilities,” Associated Press Pakistan (APP) quoted the source as saying.

It added the project would assist the two nations to pursue their vision of economic stability and transformation.

The project would boost bilateral and multilateral relations between brotherly countries under Kingdom Vision 2030.

The officials vowed to work on enhancing remittances and also sought the contribution of the Kingdom to the economic stability of Pakistan.

On the other hand, to comply with Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia was also seeking for foreign assistance, as it wanted to cut the Kingdom’s reliance on oil and public service sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and recreation and tourism.
