Sindh approves launch of 500 electric buses in Karachi and Hyderabad

The Sindh government has approved the operation of 500 electric buses in Karachi and Hyderabad to improve public transport and promote eco-friendly mobility.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy Board chaired by Sindh Chief Minister, with Provincial Ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah, board members, and relevant officials in attendance.
During the session, the board not only approved the launch of electric buses but also greenlit several key development projects, including the construction of an elevated expressway from Karachi Port to Qayyumabad, the plantation of riverine forests over 41,000 hectares in Jamshoro and Matiari, and the implementation of a concession agreement for the Science and Technology Park at NED University.
Additionally, the board approved the outsourcing of radiology and diagnostic lab services at Chandka Hospital and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to enhance healthcare efficiency and service quality.
