Sindh cabinet to speed up traffic e-challan cases: CM Murad

The Sindh cabinet has approved a major reform to fast-track e challan cases by empowering existing consumer courts as special traffic courts in every district.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, in a meeting, claimed that the cabinet has agreed to allow consumer courts to handle e-challan cases. The e-challan system is being enforced to reduce traffic-rule violations.

According to an official statement, the move is aimed at ensuring swift trials of traffic violations and expedite justice for drivers who dispute e-challans or face penalties.

Moreover, CM Shah emphasized that after consultation with the SHC chief justice, the jurisdiction for traffic cases would be conferred upon consumer courts across all districts subject to the High Court’s approval.
