Allah Dino Khan Bhayo, the advisor to the Sindh CM on Forest and Wildlife Department, has resigned from his position due to facing an inquiry into the alleged trafficking of illegal weapons involving him and his son.
In a statement, Bhayo said that the accusations of involvement in the illegal weapons trade have tarnished his reputation, and he criticized the unnecessary politicization of the matter.
The confiscation of banned arms occurred in Jacobabad, allegedly involving Bhayo's son.
The advisor to the Sindh Chief Minister clarified that he has no connection to the incident and vehemently denied the allegations against him. He urged the provincial government to conduct a fair investigation into the matter and promptly accept his resignation.
Meanwhile, SSP Saleem Shah refuted reports of the arrest and subsequent release of Allah Dino Khan Bhayo's son, stating that they were inaccurate. He revealed that the vehicle seized during the operation was registered under the name of Haji Abdul Hameed.
According to the SSP, the weapons were being transported from Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan to Shikarpur. He also mentioned the formation of a committee comprising two DSPs to oversee the investigation. Additionally, the police have obtained the remand of seven suspects involved in the case.
