Sindh govt announces board exam dates, syllabus cut by 25%

The Sindh Education Department announced to conduct the Matriculation and Intermediate examinations in March and April, respectively. The syllabus for the current academic year has been reduced by 25%.

A notification issued  Thursday (December 5) by the Steering Committee of the Sindh Education Department outlined the details of the decision.

According to the notification, the Matriculation exams for ninth grade will take place from March 1 to 15, while the tenth-grade exams will commence on March 15th. The Intermediate exams for eleventh and twelfth grades will begin on April 15.

The syllabus for grades one to eight will be reduced by 25%. This reduction will also be applied to the Matriculation and Intermediate board exams.

The notification further stated that the Matriculation results are expected to be announced by July 15, and the Intermediate results by August 15.

The academic year 2025-26 for schools in Sindh will commence on April 1, while colleges will begin their new academic year on August 1, 2025.

The winter and summer vacation schedules will remain unchanged. Summer vacations will be from June 1 to July 31, and winter vacations will be from December 22 to 31.
