Dumper crushes siblings to death in Karachi, father injured

KARACHI – An overspeeding dumper claimed the lives of two siblings in Karachi’s Federal B Area on Sunday, while leaving their father injured.

According to police, the speeding vehicle rammed into a motorcycle, killing 14-year-old Ahmed Raza and 22-year-old Mahnoor on the spot.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies and the injured man to a hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.

The tragedy adds to a growing list of fatal dumper-related accidents in the city.

Just last month, a similar incident on the National Highway near Malir Court claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

The driver fled the scene but was later arrested.

Rescue officials recalled that in the aftermath of last month’s accident, enraged locals pelted stones at the dumper and assaulted the driver. The anger escalated, leading to six other dumpers being set ablaze by a mob.
