The Government of Sindh has announced two public holidays across the province on the occasion of Ashura, according to an official notification issued on Sunday.
The Services, General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD) declared June 25 and June 26, 2026 (Thursday and Friday) as public holidays to mark the 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 A.H.
According to the notification, the holidays will be observed in all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils functioning under the administrative control of the provincial government.
Essential services, however, will continue to operate and are exempt from the holiday announcement.
The notification was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by officials of the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department.
