Karachi: Training sessions for women to ride scooters have commenced in Korangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Malir, announced Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon.

The initiative aims to encourage working women who apply for pink scooters, providing them with safe riding skills. In Hyderabad, scooter training began on December 18, Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon added.

The minister said that the training sessions will soon start in other cities across Sindh, including Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas.

The program is designed to promote women’s safe and easy mobility.

“Empowering women is among the top priorities of the Sindh government. Women’s autonomy is not only tied to economic independence but also to social freedom. Without safe travel facilities, practical empowerment cannot be achieved,” said Sharjeel Memon.

The training program is expected to boost women’s confidence, self-reliance, and practical freedom. Female students and working women will particularly benefit from this initiative.
