Sky News anchor confronts PM's spokesperson with past social media posts on Imran

PTI founder Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim Khan and Suleiman Khan, appeared on Sky News for an interview aired early on Wednesday. They talked about their father’s condition in Adiala Jail and shared plans to travel to Pakistan next month.

During the interview, the brothers described Imran’s prison cell as “death cell”. They also said that they have already applied for visas and are planning to visit Pakistan in January.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s spokesperson for foreign media, Mosharraf Zaidi, also appeared on the show.

Anchor Yalda Hakim pulled up Zaidi’s past posts on X made at the time of Imran Khan’s arrest in 2023, in which he had described the move as “disgraceful”. She also flashed a similar post from 2024 and asked whether he still stood by those remarks.

Zaidi replied that he did, “at the time”, but said circumstances had changed since then. He pointed to recent regional tensions, including conflict with India, incidents involving Iran in 2024, and continued security challenges linked to Afghanistan.

When asked directly whether he believed Imran Khan posed a threat, Zaidi replied, “Absolutely.” Hakim also questioned him about a report by a UN special rapporteur, asking if he believed the findings were untrue.
