SSGC assures uninterrupted gas supply for Karachi during Eidul Fitr

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced its Eid ul Fitr gas supply schedule, ensuring uninterrupted supply with full pressure across Karachi during the festive occasion.

According to an SSGC spokesperson, all gas valves will be turned on, maintaining full pressure throughout the three-day Eid celebration. Gas supply will remain available until midnight each day, including Chand Raat (the eve of Eid).

Residents facing any supply issues have been advised to contact the SSGC helpline at 1199 for assistance.

Earlier, in a public announcement before Ramadan, the gas utility had assured citizens of uninterrupted gas supply during Sehri and Iftar. During the holy month, gas was provided from 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM for Sehri and from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM for Iftar preparations.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is expected to observe Eid ul Fitr on Monday (tomorrow), as multiple countries, including Saudi Arabia, are celebrating the festival today. Astronomical calculations also suggest that the Shawwal moon will be visible on March 30 (today), indicating Eid will likely fall on March 31 in Pakistan.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, is scheduled to meet today (Sunday) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Islamabad.

Religious scholars, meteorological experts, and other stakeholders will review moon sighting reports from across the country to officially determine the date for Eid ul Fitr celebrations.
