WATCH: Torrential rain, hailstorm batter Peshawar

Severe weather conditions wreaked havoc for the second consecutive day in Peshawar, as rain and hailstorm continued to hit the area. 

Bannu witnessed three fatalities, while Shangla and Bajaur each recorded two deaths due to rain-related incidents within the past 24 hours.

Tragically, a family in Bannu lost three members when their house collapsed under the weight of the downpour. Similarly, in the Kharian village of Bajaur’s Nawagai tehsil, two individuals lost their lives, and a child sustained injuries when a roof collapsed.

In Shangla’s Alpuri tehsil, heavy rainfall led to the collapse of a house roof, resulting in two fatalities and the injury of a child.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Adnan Khatak confirmed that relief aid had been provided to the affected families.

Furthermore, three individuals were injured in Peshawar’s Warsak Road area when a roof collapsed due to the inclement weather.

The provincial capital also experienced heavy rainfall and hailstorms, leading to flooding on several roads and disruptions in power supply across various areas.

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) reported that 54 of its feeders in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, and Swat tripped following the rainfall. The company's staff is diligently working to restore power supply to affected areas.

Meanwhile, in Swat, residents of the picturesque Kalam Valley and its surroundings woke up to a breathtaking scene as the landscape was blanketed in snow.
