Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat on Monday said that caravans were reportedly attacked while en route to Islamabad, but the police abandoned their vehicle after encountering a charged crowd of workers.

Following the PTI founder Imran Khan's final call for protest against what they described as a stolen mandate, the 26th constitutional amendment, and Imran Khan and party workers’ prolonged imprisonment, PTI Workers began preparations to depart for Islamabad on November 24.

According to Marwat, up to 100,000 people are 15 kilometres away from the federal capital, and “workers are overcharged”. They defeated the obstacles and hurdles created by the Punjab police.

He claimed that the Attock police attacked the PTI convoy but the workers chased the away.

“This time we will not let the Islamabad Police oppress us because we are strong enough to defend ourselves,” he said on his X handle.

According to Marwat, “As many as 300,000 people will enter Islamabad by 3:00 pm,” as three big caravans, one led by Ali Amin Gandapur and two from Malakand and Hazara divisions, respectively, will reach Islamabad by today’s evening.
